Tiling & Waterproofing Systems

Precision tiling, substrate preparation and waterproofing systems for bathrooms, architectural interiors and external building surfaces

At The Flush Royale, tiling is not treated as a finishing trade.
It is part of a complete waterproofing and substrate-controlled system designed for long-term performance, precision and durability.

Most bathroom failures do not begin with visible leaks.
They begin behind the tiles — through movement, poor preparation, incorrect materials, lack of waterproofing or rushed installation methods.

Our approach is different.

Every bathroom we deliver follows a structured preparation and waterproofing process before a single tile is installed.

Waterproofing as Standard

Full wet-area waterproofing is included as standard on our projects.
This is not an optional upgrade.

Depending on the project requirements, we use professional systems including:

  • Schluter® waterproofing systems

  • Laticrete® tanking systems

  • XPS-core tile backer boards

  • Fibre-reinforced cement boards

  • Reinforced waterproof joints and corners

  • Wet-area sealing membranes

  • Controlled substrate preparation and levelling compounds

Wet areas are fully tanked before tiling begins to protect the structure behind the finish layer.

Because tiles themselves are not waterproof.

Premium Adhesives & Installation Materials

We use professional-grade installation materials selected specifically for:

  • tile type

  • substrate movement

  • wet-area conditions

  • underfloor heating compatibility

  • load and expansion behaviour

This includes:

  • flexible adhesives

  • decoupling systems

  • anti-fracture membranes

  • performance grouts

  • movement joints

  • specialist trims and edge systems

Material compatibility matters.
A premium tile installed on an incorrect substrate or adhesive system will still fail.

Substrate Preparation & Structural Control

The quality of a tiled finish is defined long before the tiling starts.

We assess:

  • floor rigidity and movement

  • wall alignment and tolerance

  • substrate suitability

  • moisture exposure

  • loading conditions

  • plumbing penetrations and detailing

Where required, we reinforce floors, rebuild wall structures and correct uneven substrates to achieve stable installation conditions.

This is one of the most overlooked stages in bathroom renovation — and one of the main reasons tiled bathrooms fail over time.

Precision Tiling Standards

We focus heavily on alignment, symmetry and finishing detail.

Our installations are planned around:

  • balanced tile layouts

  • controlled joint lines

  • clean transitions

  • minimal cuts

  • accurate datum setting

  • visual symmetry across walls and floors

Mitre cuts are used as standard where appropriate to create cleaner, sharper edge detailing without relying on bulky plastic trims.

Large-format porcelain, natural stone, feature tiling and complex layouts all require precise planning, accurate setting out and controlled installation methods.

This is not “fast-fit” tiling.

Long-Term Performance

A bathroom should not only look good at handover.
It should continue performing properly years later.

Our focus is not simply on appearance — but on system integrity, moisture protection, dimensional control and long-term reliability.

Because behind every clean tiled finish should be a properly engineered waterproofing and substrate system.
